For over 40 years our club was known as St. Gerard's Calisthenics Club. Located in the South Eastern Suburbs of Dandenong North classes were held in a small hall at the local church. The club was supported by Parish Priest Father Van Coy who was instrumental in having the hall
replaced and allowing the girls to continue their classes.
Eventually outgrowing the church hall St. Gerard's CC relocated to Lyndale Secondary School. After an extensive period of time and with many members moving to the Casey area, the opportunity arose to relocate the club to Narre Warren. With this move came a new name, hence Narre Warren Calisthenics Club Inc. (NWCC) was born. NWCC will be celebrating 10 years in 2019.
Throughout the club's history there are many members who continue to be apart of our friendly, thriving club. The first President of St. Gerard's CC, Judy Walkerden was honoured a life membership.Today she is still involved with the club and has two daughters and a granddaughter also apart of the NWCC family.
Following in Judy's presidential footsteps are Angela, Marilyn, Rachael and Linda,
all who to this day are still associated with the club.
Kaye Higgins has been the clubs one and only Treasurer and remains in that post today.
Kimberley Walkerden, Ronnie Howlett and Jess Germain, three of our very passionate coaches can all reminisce about their time as students of St. Gerard's CC. They all started as tinies and now have a wealth of knowledge and experience they love to impart on their current students.
To see members 20, 30, 40 years on still competing and or coaching with the same club is a true testament to the clubs fun, family atmosphere.
